In order to understand the history of our company it is necessary to go back to the origins of the company’s founder and manager Mr. Emilio Zamora Saínz, who is descended from a farmer’s family from the Spanish province of Soria. From his family Mr. Zamora inherited the experience of growing potatoes. In the winter 1998 this experience and his entrepreneurship encouraged him together with his mother, wife and children to experiment with frying potatoes in order to find the ideal recipe.

	The beginning in Anavieja (Soria)

 

They carried out the experiments with different kinds of frying pans, with various thickness of the potato and even with different oil temperatures. Along all this work they discovered the virtues of oil and potatoes succeeding to make potato chips that are known as “Artesanas de Añavieja”.

Although the product range was diversified with pork scratchings and rashers in the course of time, the traditional, for the region typical, handmade products were always maintained in the production.

A year after the company’s establishment they decided to initiate an innovative project, the organic agriculture, and this is how the first Spanish organic potato chips were launched into the market.

It was the result of a long and rough time: they had to learn new techniques of agriculture and frying; the facilities had to be enlarged and also there was a lot of work to do concerning the commercial increase and maintaining the quality standards etc.

Today, we are a solid and renowned company. We keep on growing by working from day to day better, while keeping in mind our aim to produce “high quality natural products”.
